21st Annual West Augusta Primitive Rendezvous
June 11th through 15th 2008
Nestled in the shadows of Saddle Back Mountain, the West Augusta Primitive Rendezvous site is approximately 1 (one) mile from the last turnoff to Nancy Hanks Memorial (near Keyser) in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. If you would like to come early and stay the week, come on along!
CAMP EVENTS:
- Aggregate Woodswalk, Scribe's Match and Hawk & Knife
- Rifle Match, Smoothbore Match (rear sights will be allowed)
- Fire Starting Contest & Candle Shoot(after dark)
- Boat Race
- Mug Suck
- Camp Feast
WOODS WALK: Each shooter must supply a blanket prize ($25.00 value) pertaining to the period. Bring blanket prizes to the registration tent before reporting to the range. The Woods Walk will be open Thursday - Friday - Saturday from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM (last shooter at 3:00PM) Other match times will be announced.
CAMP FEAST: The camp feast will be Friday evening around 6:00 PM. Please bring a covered dish
CAMP MEETING: Our evening camp meeting will be Friday during the feast. Prizes will be given on Saturday Evening, followed by the closing ceremony.
VISITOR HOURS: Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
WATER & FIREWOOD: Firewood and water is supplied. Bottled water is encouraged. No trash serivice available, please take out what you bring into camp.
MODERN CAMPING: Sites are available near the rendevous site
SHOWERS: A rustic shower is on site. Water for the shower is in close proximity or you can be brave and endure a refreshing bath in the creek that runs next to the rendezvous site.
NO PETS ALLOWED - NO VEHICLES ALLOWED INTO CAMP AFTER DARK - NO EXCEPTIONS!!
